We are beginning the clubhouse painting project starting today. The contractor will be prepping the exterior for painting, so please be aware that he will be at the clubhouse this week and next week. If you drive by, you will notice some paint samples on the front of the building.

He will be painting the exterior of the clubhouse, working on the electrical, and there will be an installation crew installing the solar panels and pool thermal heating over the next few weeks.

You may still use the pool, but we just wanted to give you a heads up that work is being done on the building. Be aware of your surroundings to avoid any accidents.

We'll keep you posted on the progress.

    Thank you!

Effective Nov 1, 2016, the designated "game room storage area" will be blocked off from rentals. This will be done using a "pipe and drape" setup and/or a locked mesh wall.

The area in question is located along the western wall (where the A/C units are located) and is to be used to store the game room equipment (including, but not limited to: air hockey table, ping pong table, basketball hoop game, and foosball game.) The new solar system will include the installation of a more efficient A/C unit that will cool down the entire room without having to turn on the smaller A/C units.

Renters need to be aware that this area WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE during their rental, and that they should take this into account when they begin planning the table and DJ placement, etc. (if applicable) for their event.

The pipe & drape will consist of white PVC frames with white, commercial grade drapery for a more pleasing background while it also blocks off the game equipment.

    Thank you for your understanding!

The contractor is scheduled to begin work on painting the clubhouse on Thursday, Sept 29th.

Please be aware that he may need to put up scaffolding next to certain walls of the clubhouse so, for your safety, please stay away from these areas. (This may include, but not limited to, the eastern exterior wall that opens up to the pool deck.)

    Thank you for your support!

Due to schedule conflicts with several of our Board members, the Board has decided to change our monthly meeting date from the last Wednesday of the month to the last TUESDAY of the month. The meeting time of 6:30pm still remains the same.

LGCA Members who wish to attend the meeting are welcome to do so, however, you may only observe the meeting and are not allowed to ask questions or make comments unless you have requested to be put on the agenda to address the Board.

UPDATE: The electrician has fixed the problem with the lights. Apparently, the electrical system was overloaded and tripped the secondary panel. The panel is scheduled for an upgrade along with the solar system installation, so hopefully this will no longer be a problem.

Thanks for your understanding and patience! You can swim in the pool after dark again. The overhead and underwater lights should turn on automatically again.

    LGCA

    --------------------------

9/20/16: It was recently brought to our attention that the pool deck overhead lights and the underwater pool lights are not turning on, nor can they be turned on manually.

The electrician has been contacted and we are trying to resolve this problem.

In the meantime, please DO NOT SWIM in the pool or walk around the pool deck in the dark until this issue has been resolved. This is a safety issue and we do not want anyone harmed if they go out to the pool deck area at night.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

The pool heater had to be uninstalled so that we would be in compliance with the City of Lakewood inspectors and be able to pull permits for the new solar system.

We apologize for any inconvenience it may cause if the pool water is cold during your rental event and/or when you drop by for a swim.

In case you weren't already aware, the pool has not been heated since Winter 2015, due to the high monthly utility cost, but will be heated once we have the solar system installed in the upcoming months.

    Thank you for your patience!

Due to the condition of the BBQ grill causing ashes and grease to drip onto the pool deck, the grill has been removed.

We are considering having a designated BBQ area in the backyard with a brick or stone area on which a grill can be used. This will cut down on the mess around the pool deck since it has been difficult getting grill users to clean up after themselves.

If anyone has a grill (gas or charcoal) that they would like to donate to the LGCA, please email us at Info4LGCA@gmail.com

    Thank you!

In striving to help our members feel welcome to use the pool on weekends when the clubhouse is being rented, we have posted signs poolside asking renters (both members and non-members) to refrain from setting up party decorations, pop-up tents, tables, and/or jumpy castles around the pool deck until after 4pm.

The reason for this is because when members approach the clubhouse and see all of the decorations up at the pool, they feel uncomfortable and don't want to intrude on a renter's party.

But in reality, the renter is intruding on the member's right to use the pool until 4pm.

So please help our fellow member families feel welcome to use the pool during your rental by setting up your decor in the main hall and not poolside. Pool deck exclusivity begins at 4pm.

    Thank you for your cooperation!

    Reminder:

Only adult members (age 18+) are allowed to bring guests to the clubhouse and are responsible for their guest's actions. No one under 18 yrs age is allowed access to the clubhouse without an adult MEMBER (not a non-member relative, babysitter, coach, etc.) being present at all times. Non-members have no authority to enter this facility.

Please do not give your clubhouse access card to your child/grandchild/niece/nephew to enter the clubhouse on his/her own. This is a serious rule and can result in suspension of access to the clubhouse if not followed.
